How the Brain Works

The Brain is equipped with 2 primary thinking systems:
  • The Lexicoder for verbal processing using words
  • The Opticoder for visual processing using pictures
Each system has 3 primary elements that move information from the eyes and ears to working memory knowledge.
  1. Attention
  2. Memory
  3. Processing
Attention, memory and processing are brain elements that have been measured for more than 100 years and each year our evaluation tools have become more refined. Now we are able to create an individual "brain print". Just like our finger print - each of us uses our brain fuel in a very unique and individualized way.

The way we use our brains affects everything we do:

  • How we communicate
  • How we learn
  • How we perform in school
  • How we perform on standardized tests
  • How we perform at work
  • How we approach our relationships
  • How we approach life's challenges
The great news is that now that we understand brain plasticity, we can use our own brain print to decide how we want to change and enhance our brain function.
