Improving Symptoms Of Autism & Attention Deficit
Everyday, visual children from all over the world are perplexing doctors, teachers, and parents. The symptoms are obvious; the diagnosis and solutions can be elusive. Often the symptoms can look like many labels. Maverick Minds are highly visual thinkers who have as many as 50 symptoms in processing language for listening, reading, speaking, writing, attention, and memory. Whitney was diagnosed with Autism, PDD, Mental Retardation, and Deaf-Mute. His IQ was measured at 49 and he flunked out of special education for an entire school district to be placed in the country program for the retarded and multiply handicapped. Now he is a Junior in College in Chemical Engineering in New York City, working for college administration and enjoying a full fun social life.
Sam was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. He had very poor verbal skills, he simply could not communicate. In social situations he was timid and shy because he just could not understand the words that were being thrown at him and he relied on his parents to help him. He had trouble focusing and concentrating for participating in school and was considered to be a year behind his peers. Teachers thought he only did what he liked. Now Sam is able to sustain attention beautifully and is an eager, aggressive learner at or above grade level.
Caleb was withdrawn and rarely spoke. When he did speak, he quoted lines from favorite movies or made odd noises. Because of Brain Engineering, Caleb has now moved from his autism class to being mainstreamed in 6th grade improving from preschool to grade level books.
Dr. LB was so worried about her job that she couldn't sleep. Specialists thought her problems at work were due to a sleep disorder. Often the symptoms of a Maverick, are similar to symptoms of Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). When Mavericks are misdiagnosed from a symptom assessment, they can become frustrated and appear unmotivated. When Mavericks are correctly identified and begin appropriate training, they often experience success very quickly.
